Melissa R. Goldberg, DVM
Dr. Melissa R. Goldberg has consulted with Fleisher Forensics since 2010 and has over 25 years of experience practicing small-animal veterinary medicine and surgery in the Philadelphia area.
Dr. Goldberg is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association (PVMA). She is certified in RECOVER Advanced Life Support and CALM certified in low-stress animal handling.
Dr. Goldberg is an Area Chief of Staff Veterinarian at Banfield Pet Hospital for the Pennsylvania Market. Prior to joining Banfield, Dr. Goldberg practiced at both privately owned and corporate practices in associate and leadership roles. In addition, she is a consultant for Best Pet Rx, a specialty veterinary compounding pharmacy.
Dr. Goldberg has worked with several non-profit rescue organizations. At Forgotten Cats, she managed spay/neuter clinics for stray and feral cats as part of trap/neuter/return projects for five years. She then co-founded and spent four years as Head Veterinarian at The Bridge Clinic, which provides quality, low-cost veterinary care to feral cats, rescue animals and community pets. Dr. Goldberg volunteers for Mentorvet, which provides mentorship to new veterinarians, and serves on the board of her local technical high school’s Veterinary Science department.
Dr. Goldberg received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biological Sciences from Rutgers University and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University. She is currently working towards a master’s degree in Management and Organizational Leadership. She lives in Glenside, PA with her partner and their two mixed-breed dogs and two cats, all rescues.
