Douglas B. Williams, P.E.
Douglas B. Williams, P.E. is a skilled electrical engineer with nearly 30 years of experience in electrical safety, cause and origin of fires, electrical power systems, renewable energy, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and utility-scale power generation. He specializes in electrical codes and standards, utility interconnection requirements, arc flash hazard analysis, NFPA and OSHA safety practices, system reliability, and root cause investigations.
Prior to working at Fleisher Forensics, Douglas B. Williams, P.E. worked in the renewable energy industry in a variety of positions, with responsibilities including project safety, engineering design, project execution, system commissioning, operations management, technical training, organizational development, and oversight of utility-scale renewable energy and battery storage assets. His experience includes safety and training, design, construction, commissioning, operation, troubleshooting, and evaluation of solar generation facilities, battery energy storage systems, microgrids, and low / medium voltage power distribution systems. Mr. Williams has developed training programs, engineering standards, analytical tools, and operational processes for renewable energy owners and operators throughout North America. He is the holder of a United States patent related to inverter control technology.
Mr. Williams received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, where he graduated magna cum laude, and an Associate of Science degree in Physics from Mercer County Community College. He is a registered professional engineer in several states. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and The National Fire Protection Association. He is also OSHA 30 Certified and trained in NFPA electrical safety practices.
